  • BBT: Basal Body Temperature
  • BCP: Birth Control Pills
  • BD: Baby Dance (sex)
  • BFN: Big Fat Negative on a pregnancy test
  • BFP: Big Fat Positive on a pregnancy test
  • BW, b/w: Bloodwork
  • CD: Cycle Day
  • CM: Cervical Mucus
  • CP: Cervical Position
  • DD: Dear Daughter, Darling Daughter
  • DH: Dear Husband, Darling Husband, Damn Husband (ssh, don’t tell Mr. Right)
  • DPIUI: Days past IUI
  • DPO: Days past Ovulation
  • DPT: Days Post-Transfer
  • DS: Dear Son, Darling Son
  • DTD: Do the Deed (sex)
  • Dx: Diagnosis
  • E2: Estradiol
  • EDD: Estimated Due Date
  • EPT: Early Pregnancy Test
  • ER: Egg retrieval
  • ET: Embryo Transfer
  • FET: Frozen Embryo Transfer
  • FSH: Follicle Stimulating Hormone
  • hCG, HCG: Human Chorionic Gonadotropin
  • HPT: Home Pregnancy Test
  • HSC: Hysteroscopy
  • HSG: Hysterosalpingogram
  • ICSI: Intra-cytoplasmic Sperm Injection
  • IF: Infertility
  • IM: Intramuscular – injecting into your muscle – sticking the needle in your butt for example. Much more painful than SubQ injections
  • IUI: Intra-uterine Insemination
  • IVF: In Vitro Fertilization
  • LAP: Laparoscopy
  • LH: Luteinizing Hormone
  • LP: Luteal Phase
  • O, OV: Ovulation
  • OB/GYN: Obstetrician/Gynecologist
  • OB: Obstetrician
  • OHSS: Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome
  • OPK Ovulation Predictor Kit
  • P4: Progesterone
  • PCOS: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
  • PG: Pregnant
  • PGD: Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis
  • PIAC: Pee in a Cup (Taking a pregnancy test that you stick into a cup of your pee)
  • PIO: Progesterone in Oil
  • PMS: Pre-menstrual Syndrome
  • POAS: Pee on a Stick (Taking a pregnancy test that you pee on)
  • PUPO: Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise (What you are durring the 2ww)
  • RE: Reproductive Endocrinologist
  • SA: Semen Analysis
  • SubQ: Subcutaneous – sticking the needle into the skin – preferred sites are thigh or stomach. Much easier than IM injections.
  • TTC: Trying to Conceive
  • US, U/S, u/s: Ultrasound
